465 South Street, Morristown, NJ

The redevelopment of downtown Belmar, New Jersey, is underway at 800 Main Street. The demolition of the former site of the Seacoast Chevrolet dealership, located at the corner of 8th Avenue and Main Street, marks the beginning of the initial phase of this redevelopment project. 800 Main Street will ultimately consist of 38 condominiums and town homes, 9,500 square feet of first floor retail, and 67 covered parking spaces.

The main thrust of the master redevelopment plan, created by The Gale Construction Company, a subsidiary of Mack-Cali, is to spur life into downtown Belmar with mixed use buildings including retail and residential. Other key elements include the revitalization of Main Street and the new Pyanoe Plaza town square, enhancement of the Shark River waterfront to include retail and restaurants, and greater access to the train station via Pyanoe Plaza. The completion of this redevelopment project is anticipated within 10 years.
